چکیده
Non-Hermitian skin effect denotes the exponential localization of a large number eigen-states in non-Hermitian lattice under open boundary conditions. Such non-Hermiticity-induced can offset penetration depth in-gap edge states, leading to counterintuitive delocalized modes, which have not been studied realistic photonic system such as crystals. Here, we analytically reveal and states Maxwell's equations for chiral crystals with anomalous parity-time symmetry. Remarkably, rigorously prove that is inversely proportional frequency real part chirality. Our findings pave way towards exploring novel phenomena applications continuous equations.

Topologically Protected Defect States in Open Photonic Systems with Non-Hermitian Charge-Conjugation and Parity-Time Symmetry.
We show that topologically protected defect states can exist in open (leaky or lossy) systems even when these systems are topologically trivial in the closed limit. The states appear from within the continuum, thus in the absence of a band gap, and are generated via exceptional points (a spectral transition that occurs in open wave and quantum systems with a generalized time-reversal symmetry),...
متن کاملTopologically protected bound states in photonic parity-time-symmetric crystals.
Parity-time (PT)-symmetric crystals are a class of non-Hermitian systems that allow, for example, the existence of modes with real propagation constants, for self-orthogonality of propagating modes, and for uni-directional invisibility at defects. Photonic PT-symmetric systems that also support topological states could be useful for shaping and routing light waves. However, it is currently deba...
متن کاملWave transport and statistical properties of an open non-Hermitian quantum dot with parity-time symmetry.
A basic quantum-mechanical model for wave functions and current flow in open quantum dots or billiards is investigated. The model involves non-Hertmitian quantum mechanics, parity-time (PT) symmetry, and PT-symmetry breaking. Attached leads are represented by positive and negative imaginary potentials. Thus probability densities, currents flows, etc., for open quantum dots or billiards may be s...

Coherent hopping of excitation relies on quantum coherence over physically extended states. In this work, we consider simple models to examine the effect of symmetries of delocalized multi-excitation states on the dynamical timescales, including hopping rates, radiative decay and environmental interactions. While the decoherence (pure dephasing) rate of an extended state over N sites is compara...
متن کاملPseudo-time-reversal symmetry and topological edge states in two-dimensional acoustic crystals
We propose a simple two-dimensional acoustic crystal to realize topologically protected edge states for acoustic waves. The acoustic crystal is composed of a triangular array of core-shell cylinders embedded in a water host. By utilizing the point group symmetry of two doubly degenerate eigenstates at the Γ point, we can construct pseudo-time-reversal symmetry as well as pseudo-spin states in t...
